On the evening of October 12th, Undine crews returned to the Centre County Public Safety Training Center for work night to conduct training. Staffing for an engine and the quint arrived on site to a simulated garage fire with simulated smoke conditions. Crews trained throwing ground ladders to the second floor and entering through the window, practiced extrication of a patient trapped inside, responded to a simulated mayday call for a firefighter in distress, and practiced clearing floors during the search for a patient. This real-time training simulation allows our experienced firefighters to refine their skills while making improvements to their approach and allows our newer firefighters the opportunity to practice their newly learned skills in more of a low-stakes setting than an actual event.
